WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) gave the following speech on the House floor in defense of America's ranchers. This speech occurred during debate on H.R. 764 the “Trust the Science Act” which will delist the Gray Wolf from the Endangered Species Act in the Lower 48 states:
WASHINGTON – On Friday, May 3, 2024, Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries Chairman Cliff Bentz (R-Ore.) will lead an oversight field hearing titled, “How Many Wolves Are Enough? Examining the Need to Delist the Grey Wolf.”
WASHINGTON – Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) has announced that on May 3rd in Minnesota, the Congressional Subcommittee of Natural Resources on Water, Wildlife, and Fisheries will convene a field hearing addressing the growing harm being done by the gray wolf to elk, deer, moose, farmers, ranchers, and outdoorsmen.

OREGON – Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) released the following statement after meeting Navy Veteran, Robert Keys Jr., and presenting him with 3 missing medals for his service to our nation:
"One of the privileges I have as a Congressman is recognizing Veterans for their dedicated service to our country.
"Today, I had the honor of meeting retired Navy Lieutenant Robert Keys Jr., who bravely served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Sadly, however, Mr. Keys never received his military medals recognizing his service.
Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) will present veteran Robert Keys Jr. with three medals highlighting his service and sacrifice to our nation on Friday, April 5th, in Hermiston, Oregon.
Mr. Robert Keys Jr. served 6 years in the United States Navy and received the rank of Lieutenant (O-3) during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. He was attached to a Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron that participated in the crisis.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Bentz led 19 of his Republican colleagues in sending a letter to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) Director, Martha Williams, urging her to delist the Gray Wolf as a protected species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). This letter follows the Service’s decision last month to not re-list wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains because the Service found the wolf was not in danger of extinction anywhere across the Western United States.
