WASHINGTON, D.C – Congressman Cliff Bentz has nominated fourteen Oregon students for consideration for appointment to one of the five prestigious United States Service Academies. Congressman Bentz’s Service Academy Nomination Board—retired and active-duty military officers who interview potential candidates for selection by the service academies— recommended each student based on academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and character.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Cliff Bentz’s bill, H.R. 7938, designed to protect Klamath Basin water users from being charged for maintenance and upgrade costs attributable to the Link River or Keno dams, was passed out of the House on December 17th, passed the Senate on December 19th, and on Saturday, January 4th, President Biden signed it.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – I am glad to share that this week, U.S. Route 20, the nation’s longest road stretching from Newport, Oregon, to Boston, Massachusetts, will be officially designated as the "National Medal of Honor Highway" under legislation approved by the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday. The 12 states along US Highway 20 account for about 62 percent of all 3,516 Medal of Honor awards presented since the Civil War.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-O2) announced that Tyler Correa, a senior from Phoenix High School, out of a record number of 40 submissions, has been selected as the winner of OR-02’s 2024 Congressional Art Competition! Tyler’s artwork, Strawberries, was chosen by a panel of three judges who praised the piece as having ‘amazing textures and details”.  Tyler may travel to Washington, D.C., to see her artwork displayed in the national student art exhibit in the U.S.
