Military Academy Nominations

Instructions

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review the page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five United States service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Representative Bentz may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to Oregon's Second Congressional District. Please fill out the form below in order to obtain the Military Academy Nomination Request Form from the Office of Congressman Cliff Bentz. After you complete the form below, a member of the Congressman's staff will follow up with the required paperwork to complete your nomination request.

Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies, and thank you for your interest in serving our country.

What are these options?

Constituents who are hard of hearing or use a video phone have the option to choose TDD or VP based on the type of device they are using. This allows our office to respond to them accordingly. The default option 'Voice' is a standard audible telephone.
