There is no question that Secretary Mayorkas has failed to carry out his duties as cabinet secretary, putting the American people at serious and decades-long risk. His implementation of the Biden border policies has resulted in the worst mass illegal migration into the United States that we have ever experienced. As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I have twice had the opportunity to personally question Secretary Mayorkas regarding his failure to protect our country.
"I voted in favor of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act of 2023. As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I have seen firsthand how this Administration - since day one - has shirked its duty to protect and maintain our borders. Moreover, I have visited our southern border three times, and I have seen how the Biden Administration has facilitated, encouraged, and emboldened hundreds of thousands of people to come to the USA knowing that most will immediately be allowed in. The Biden Administration has created what amounts to an open border policy.
