WASHINGTON, D.C– Today, Congressman Cliff Bentz (R-OR) introduced the O&C Renewal Act of 2026, legislation to reaffirm timber production as the primary purpose of Oregon & California (O&C) lands and restore responsible, sustained-yield forest management across more than two million acres of federal timberlands in western Oregon.
In this exclusive Five on 5 interview, News Director Joe Sullivan interviews Congressman Cliff Bentz. Congressman Bentz discusses the role Congress should play in decisions involving Iran, his support for the SAVE AMERICA Act, and his stance on mail in voting. He also reacts to the recent government shutdown and explains tax changes included in the latest federal bill and what they could mean for Oregonians.
U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-Ore.) occupies a unique position, as the only Republican in Oregon’s congressional delegation. But in Washington, D.C., his party has control of the White House and holds slim majorities in both the House and the Senate.

Bentz stopped by the Central Oregon Daily studios Tuesday to talk about several issues.
