Ayla’s artwork, Life Awaits, was selected by a panel of four judges who praised the strong execution of an interesting conceptual idea. Ayla will travel to Washington, D.C. to see her artwork displayed in the national student art exhibit in the U.S. Capitol and attend a reception in her honor.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) and 14 of his colleagues introduced the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) Accountability Act, a bill to return the NPRC to pre-pandemic funding levels if it fails to process and resolve the personnel record backlog of 600,000 requests before October 1, 2022.
Congressman Cliff Bentz (OR-02) led a group of House Republicans in writing to the Biden Administration to seek information about the Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission, which was authorized by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The Act tasked U.S. Department of Interior (DOI), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with establishing the Commission and appointing members. The letter highlighted concerns that the congressionally-mandated deadlines for appointing members to the Commission passed.
